Social responsibility

See the ERFMI members commitment below.

ERFMI and its members are committed to the following

Resilient floor covering responsibility pledge

Preamble
This Responsibility Pledge describes the values, principles and processes of ERFMI and their members and the employees of the members in doing business and in their role as a part of the environment and society.
Therefore, ERFMI members fully subscribe to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

All members of ERFMI are committed to the rules of this responsibility pledge. Unless otherwise stated the term “We” in this document stands for ERFMI, its member companies and their employees.

Compliance

  • We comply with applicable government laws, rules and regulations in our designated markets. This includes also all trade compliance laws and regulations relevant to ERFMI and its members.
  • We observe the rules of fair competition, antitrust laws as well as all trade compliance laws and avoid engaging in any behavior that may violate those rules.

Business

  • We maintain a safe and healthy work environment and we are committed to eliminating work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • We are committed to engaging in fair and vigorous competition, knowing and respecting all antitrust and competition laws and regulations globally.
  • We avoid conflicts of interest. We are expected to avoid situations where personal interests conflict, or appear to conflict, with those of the company. This includes any activity that may cause others to doubt our fairness or interferes with our ability to perform our job objectively.
  • ERFMI members follow quality management principles and have a Quality Management System according to ISO 9001 in place.

Environment and Health

  • ERFMI members are committed to use only raw materials which are fully in compliance with REACH. REACH is a European regulation which stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals and is designed to improve the protection of human health and the environment from the risks that can be posed by chemicals.
  • All products are labelled with a CE mark according to EN 14041 and product specific declaration of performance (DOP) can be found on member’s websites.
  • ERFMI members have an Environmental Management system according ISO 14001 in place and act accordingly.
  • ERFMI provides so-called Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) for product groups which are represented by ERFMI. An EPD is a multipage document describing the environmental impact of building products based on a life cycle assessment with quantitative data. It is reviewed by independent verifiers on the basis of ISO 14025 and EN 15804 standards. An EPD serves to provide transparency to the public regarding the environmental impacts of building products.

People

  • We are fully in compliance with the standards of the International Labor Organization (ILO). We disapprove child labour and all forms of forced or involuntary labour.
  • We recognize and respect all labour and employment laws and do not tolerate any form of discrimination or harassment on the grounds of gender, race, age, ethnicity, religion, worldview, disability or sexual orientation.

Society

  • ERFMI and its members are part of society and therefore have a strong sense of responsibility to the community and the environment, which is not just limited to the workplace. We constantly strive to support social, environmental, educational or charitable projects and initiatives.
